I write to understand the world; and by writing, be understood.
Growing up, I was always drawn into books and music as a lens to see the unseen, the things hidden just under the surface of every day life. I found a comfort in words and imagination that has stuck with me my whole life.
That is what I love about writing. Whether it’s music or fiction or essays, I believe there is more than just the words, but a kind of timeless magic. My hope is that, by sharing the writing, I can share some of the magic that drew me into it in the first place.
My wife, Lauren, and I have four incredible kids and live in Phoenix, AZ. I also like to tell them stories and dance and sing songs in the kitchen.
My first published short story, The Pileup, appears in fat cat magazine.
